I live with epilepsy - it does not live with me!

My life changed after a motorcycle accident - that´s when I first started noticing the signs of epilepsy. I see myself as a survivor because I´ve been through struggles with my epilepsy as well as personal tragedy. I took action despite my fear and denial.
After partnering with a specialist at an epilepsy clinic, I finally was able to manage my epilepsy. Through a self-help group, lectures, and my own personal quest to learn more, I am living well with epilepsy.
As an Epilepsy Advocate I share my experience and encourage understanding about living well with epilepsy.
What would you say to someone who has just learnt they have epilepsy?
