Education is the key to understanding.
I learned about epilepsy at an early age, because my father has it. I was diagnosed at the age of 15, but because of his history, I thought I knew everything I needed to know.
When I found an epileptologist, I learned a lot more about epilepsy and realized my mistake. I became more proactive with my health care and looked for better care. I now have a better understanding of epilepsy and a great doctor who listens to me.
As an Epilepsy Advocate I share my experience and encourage understanding about living well with epilepsy.
